Favorite productivity hack?
Nick Webb (NW): My kid has to be out the door for school by 7:00, so I can start working very early. I can get a ton of work done in the 2-3 hours before my clients start their day.
If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?
NW: My banking app, a news app (probably NPR) and an authenticator app so I can log in to all of my 2-factor sites.
Morning person or night owl?
NW: Night owl. Even though I have to be up early, I still stay up late and would prefer to sleep later.
Favorite Book/Podcast?
NW: Jonathan Lethem’s “Fortress of Solitude”
What energizes you/brings you excitement?
NW: Being alone. Either in the quiet, or with music.
Favorite song/band?
NW: I wouldn’t say I have a favorite, but have found that there are two bands that I will never skip no matter which song plays; Tool and Sigur Ros.
Do you have any pets?
NW: A cat.
What’s one item you can’t leave home without?
NW: Pants. But seriously, I do leave my house with only the clothes on my back sometimes, just to walk and not be bothered.
Which season is your favorite?
NW: The ones without 95-100% humidity.
What’s your most-used emoji?
NW: Smiley Face. 😊
What did you wish for last, like at your birthday or when throwing a coin into a fountain?’
NW: Nice try. Everybody knows wishes don’t come true if you tell someone.
If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
NW: Theoretical physics.
What qualities do you value in the people with whom you spend time?
NW: Sincerity.
If you could tell your former self one thing right now what would it be?
NW: This too shall pass.
Truth: What was your go-to work from home outfit?
NW: Jeans in the cooler months, linen pants in the summer. T-shirt unless I have a meeting, then grab a linen or oxford button up.
